چکیده

The goal of this project is to monitor activities at traffic intersections for detecting/predicting situations that may lead to accidents. Some of the key elements for robust intersection monitoring are camera calibration, motion tracking, incident detection, etc. In this paper, we consider the motion-tracking problem. A multi-level tracking approach using Kalman filter is presented for tracking vehicles and pedestrians at intersections. The approach combines low-level image-based blob tracking with high-level Kalman filtering for position and shape estimation. An intermediate occlusionreasoning module serves the purpose of detecting occlusions and filtering relevant measurements. Motion segmentation is performed by using a mixture of Gaussian models as in [19] which helps us achieve fairly reliable tracking in a variety of complex outdoor scenes. A visualization module is also presented. This module is very useful for visualizing the results of the tracker and serves as a platform for the incident

Human Computer Interaction Using Vision-Based Hand Gesture Recognition

With the rapid emergence of 3D applications and virtual environments in computer systems; the need for a new type of interaction device arises. This is because the traditional devices such as mouse, keyboard, and joystick become inefficient and cumbersome within these virtual environments. In other words, evolution of user interfaces shapes the change in the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). In...

A Generic Design for Implementing Intersection Between Triangles in Computer Vision and Spatial Reasoning

The intersection between 3D objects plays a prominent role in spatial reasoning, and computer vision. Detection of intersection between objects can be based on the triangulated boundaries of the objects, leading to computing triangle-triangle intersection. Traditionally there are separate algorithms for cross and coplanar intersection. For qualitative reasoning, intersection detection is suffic...
